Uma história engraçada contada em primeira mão por Novy:
“One crazy story from america!!!
When we were up the coast we met an old school bodyboarder called Chad barba. He used to be in all the vids and had a bit of a rep of a crazy dude but seemed so friendly and relaxed. Anyway he told us a big storm front waves coming through and that it would be miserable up there and he was thinking of going to Baja Mexico and asked if we wanted to go.
After a day driving back down the coast we decided we would so we picked him up but relised we couldn’t take a hire car across the boarder so we had to borrow a 4wd from one of his mates( we find out that the car had been used to traffic drugs across the boarder and the girl who owned the car was in jail, the people we had to leave our car with were all suss stoners etc as well. At this stage were getting a bit worried but Chad convinces us it ok. We get down there at midnight the were up at 530 to go surfing so chads driving and were taking this dodgey road along to were the waves at ( pass a military hummer on the way and he tells us this part of the coast heaps of people go and hide out)
driving down and we come to a section of the road that is on the side of a hill with on side a sheer drop off for about 300ft!!! Were all freaking out! Half way down a tire pops and there’s no stoping so we have to try drive to an open area at the end. Finally get there after freaking out and realise that our spare is flat aswell!!! We weight up the situation and it’s either we walk to the surf and deal with the flat later or miss the surf and try fix the wheel! Decide to surf and had to walk like 10ks to the next headland and the waves were average so Chad and Thomas go out and Chad calls a boat over and asks for a lift back to get help with the car! We walk back another 10 ks which takes us 2 and a half hours! Finally get there and Chad rocks up with the mexicans from the boat they take the wheels after having drama with the lock nuts! Leaves and doesn’t return till close to dark while were freaking out we’ll have to sleep out in the middle of no where with no supplies!! Finally cars fixed and we head back! Eat some dam good burritos and lobsters that the Mexican fishermen gave us for both dinner and breaky the start the drive home even though Chad wanted to stay. We were just so exhausted and over alll the drama we had no motivation! Get pulled over by cops, have to bribe them. Get to the boarder and a bit worried aboutr the car and the possiblity that there might be drugs somewhere but we get let through and where free from our niggtmare! Got a car back and drop Chad home! Wooo”
